Claude Code is Anthropic's terminal-native coding agent. Because Agents UI is built to host agents, running Claude Code inside it gives you persistent sessions, side-by-side agents, SSH, and file editing in one workspace.

Why run Claude Code in Agents UI

Agents UI treats agents as first-class: run Claude Code in one session while another agent works in parallel, and orchestrate both toward a single goal.

MCP tools for sessions, projects, files, and SSH let Claude Code take real workspace actions, and persistent sessions keep long runs alive while you step away.

How to set it up

Step 1: Install Agents UI

Download the latest macOS release and open it.

Step 2: Install the Claude Code CLI

Follow Anthropic's instructions to install Claude Code and authenticate with your Claude account or API key.

Step 3: Open a session

Create a new session in Agents UI pointed at your project directory.

Step 4: Run Claude Code

Start Claude Code in that session. It runs exactly as it would in any terminal — now with persistence, SSH, and orchestration around it.

Step 5: Add a second agent (optional)

Open another session to run Codex or Gemini CLI in parallel, and use Orchestrate mode to coordinate them.
